we can stop our compulsive thoughts or at least slow them down. In Living A Life of Inner Peace, Eckhart Tolle talks about our thoughts being like a noise that we cant switch off. When we meditate and quiet our minds, we have freedom from the continuous mind chatter and become aware of our true identity. It is like a portal or gateway to our natural state. We connect to the essence of our being which is pure unconditional love where fear cannot exist. He explains that our attention which is usually trapped in thinking, focuses on the energy field inside our bodies which is an intelligence far greater than our mind and we feel an increased aliveness. We bring that into our lives afterwards as a state of presence.
